Simba's Media and Communications Manager Ahmed Ali said on Sunday they are going to continue what they have been doing on home soil by ensuring they emerge victorious against RS Berkane and win the Confederation Cup title for the first time
Speaking at the launch of the enthusiasm for the second leg of the Confederation Cup final to be played on Sunday, May 25, Ahmed said Simba has been winning its matches when playing at home due to the quality of the team. Despite the fact that Benjamin Mkapa Stadium is the stronghold of Mnyama, it does not mean that they cannot continue their dominance at the Amaan Stadium.
Ahmed said the match against RS Berkane on Sunday will not be ordinary, this is a match to fulfill a long-standing dream and vision that even the former fifth-term President of the United Republic of Tanzania, the late Dr. John Magufuli, believed that Simba would be the first club to bring the CAF Cup to Tanzania.
"Simba, we have done many wonders, let alone the past. This season, everyone who scored against us, we scored against him. Berkane has finished his turn, now it is our turn. We are not talking about this because of history, but the quality that we have."
"We accept that Benjamin Mkapa is our stronghold, but we do not win because of the stadium, we win because of our quality. The Amaan Stadium took us to the final and now it will give us the championship."
"We did not settle the debt with the late President Mwinyi and now we are going to pay the debt in front of his son, President Dr. Hussein Mwinyi. We want to pay this debt"
