Simba Sports Club board member Crescentius Magori has called on the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to return the second leg of the CAF Confederation Cup final between Simba and RS Berkane to the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium.
In a post on his Instagram page, Magori expressed concern over the decision to change the venue to the New Amaan Complex, describing it as surrounded by uncertainty. He urged CAF President Patrice Motsepe to take action to protect Simba’s right to play at their home ground.
Magori stated that he believes there has been significant misinformation regarding the actual condition of the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium.
He noted that the stadium has undergone major renovations and is ready for use. He took the opportunity to invite CAF officials to visit and reassess the stadium’s readiness.
Magori issued a warning that Simba will not hesitate to escalate their complaints to higher decision-making bodies if they are denied the right to host the second leg of the Confederation Cup final against RS Berkane.
“There are many issues surrounding this second leg final. I am still investigating some matters that happened behind the scenes. I will report everything to FIFA if necessary. CAF needs to do better than what they have done in the lead-up to this year’s Confederation Cup finals,” Magori wrote.
