Simba board member Crescentius Magori has called on the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to halt their plan to move the second leg of the Confederation Cup final (CAF CC) between Simba and RS Berkane which was scheduled to be played on Sunday, May 25 at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium
Earlier today, Simba received a letter from CAF requesting a change of venue for the match, which was supposed to be played at the New Amaan Complex
Magori said Simba has already sold more than 12,000 tickets and expects to sell all 60,000 tickets while the Amaan Stadium has a capacity of only 15,000 fans
Magori noted that weather reports also do not indicate that May 25 will rain in Dar es Salaam, so to avoid disruption there is no reason to change the venue
"Already 12,000 tickets have been sold for Simba vs Berkane game on 25 May 2025, how is it possible that CAF is proposing to move the stadium to Zanzibar???"
"The New Aman Zanzibar Stadium cannot accommodate more than 15,000 spectators. The weather, (which is a fear factor) indicates that there will be no rain on those dates in Dar es Salaam!! CAF should let the game be played at Mkapa Stadium to avoid chaos!," wrote Magori on his social media page
