Fountain Gate Club has suspended goalkeeper John Noble who is accused of playing below standard in the Premier League match against Yanga yesterday
The Nigerian goalkeeper has been removed from the camp as the club continues with an investigation into him taking a bribe
Fountain Gate coach Robert Matano, while speaking after the match yesterday, clearly expressed his anger at what Noble did
"Indeed, you all saw that we started the game well but the goalkeeper's mistakes cost us"
"We are fighting to improve our team so that we can do well but with this 'giving' system we cannot succeed"
"When you 'give' easy goals like that, you discourage your teammates and take them out of the game," said Matano
This is not the first time such complaints have been heard in Yanga matches. When they went to Tabora to play against Tabora United, Tabora Regional Commissioner Paul Chacha explained that there was information that some players were sent messages to leave Yanga out of the game.
Perhaps the League Board should not ignore these allegations that have been heard many times in matches involving Yanga.
Our league is ranked fourth in terms of quality but if these continue to be ignored, it is clear that the value of the league will decline.
