On Wednesday, April 2nd at the Suez Stadium in Ismailia, Tanzania's only remaining representatives in the CAF competition, Simba will face Al Masry in the first leg of the quarter-finals of the African Confederation Cup (CAF CC).
It is a tough but crucial match for Simba away from home, as this match carries the fate of the Beast beyond the quarter-finals stage, which they have been stuck for almost five consecutive seasons in the CAF competition.
Al Masry is one of the toughest teams in the Confederation Cup this season despite finishing second in the group stage behind Zamalek who led Group D.
The team, which is ranked fourth in the Egyptian Premier League, lost only one match in the group stage.
Al Masry's records in the domestic league show that their last match ended in a 1-1 draw with the National Bank of Egypt team.
In six group matches, Masry won two home matches against the Black Bulls of Mozambique (3-1) and Enyimba of Nigeria (2-0) then drew three and lost one against Zamalek (1-0)
In the last five matches in all competitions Al Masry have been forced to draw three, win one and lose one
However, they face Simba who are in excellent form having won four of their last five matches
Simba are coached by coach Fadlu Davids who has experience playing in these knockout matches
