Simba attacking midfielder Jean Charles Ahoua leads the Premier League's top scorers list with 12 goals, with the team having eight matches left to finish the season and having a tough task to reach the record previously set by Meddie Kagere while serving the team
Kagere holds the record for being the foreign star who scored the most goals in the Premier League, scoring 23 in the 2018-2019 season, which even he himself failed to achieve despite defending the Golden Boot the following 2019-2020 season. Currently, Kagere is beating Namungo, coached by Juma Mgunda.
It has been seven seasons since the record was set by Kagere, while no foreign star has reached it, including Kagere himself.
The task has now shifted to Ahoua, who has 12 goals in 21 matches, starting 17 and four from the bench, with 7 assists so far.
Statistically, Ahoua averages one goal in two matches, so in the remaining matches he can only score four, something that makes it difficult for him to reach Kagere's record.
Kagere played four seasons for Simba, scoring a total of 65 goals, where 2018/19 (23), 2019/20 (22), 2020/21 (13) and 2021/22 (7).
However, coach Fadlu Davids believes in the ability of Simba's attackers, including Ahoua that they will score many goals, but some former stars see reaching or breaking Kagere's record for this season as difficult in the remaining matches.
