Chairman of the Simba club Murtaza Mangungu has congratulated the players and the technical bench for fighting to ensure that Simba advances to the quarter-finals of the Confederation Cup in Africa
Yesterday Simba qualified for the sixth quarter-final in 7 seasons of the CAF competition forcing a 1-1 draw against Bravos Fc of Angola
Mangungu said group A was not easy but the efforts of the players and the good work done by the technical bench have ensured that Simba qualify for the quarter finals with one match in hand
Mangungu said the remaining task now is to win the last match against CS Constantine and finish first in the group
"First of all, let's thank our players and the technical bench for the good work they did, we were able to qualify for the quarter-finals once again, it was not easy"
"This qualification is over now, what remains is to lead the group, we still have one match in hand against Constantine which we are going to play in Dar es Salaam"
"The match will have three big things; first is to take revenge because they beat us. Second, we want to win to lead the group and third, this is a match that the players will use to thank the fans for the cooperation they have given to Simba since this tournament started ," said Mangungu
The match against CS Constantine will be played on Sunday, January 19 at the Benjamin Mkapa stadium, at 4 pm
