The Information and Communication Manager of the Simba club Ahmed Ali has expressed his dismay at the violent incidents that occurred after the Federation Cup game against CS Sfaxien played at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium yesterday and Simba emerged with a 2-1 victory
>Ahmed has said that Simba does not support those events as football should be a gentlemanly game
He said the authorities have seen what happened and Simba believes action will be taken because the evidence of those events is clear
"Simba Club does not support incidents of violence in stadiums. Football should be a gentlemanly game"
"Teams should prepare and compete on the field within 90 minutes and not the other way around"
"I believe the authorities have seen it and will take appropriate action without harming anyone," said Ahmed
Violence broke out after the game ended, Simba scored the winning goal in extra time
CS Sfaxien officials and some of their players attacked the referee who had to be rescued by police officers
In addition, a few CS Sfaxien fans who were on the stage also threw chairs at the Simba fans and that's when a big riot broke out on the stage as the Simba fans 'responded to the blows' against the attacks
The Police Force has given an assessment of the damage caused by the incidents of uprooting chairs where a total of 256 chairs were uprooted
It is clear that the Confederation of African Football (CAF) will take action against the hooliganism committed by CS Sfaxien for its officials to beat the referee
