Congoman midfielder Fabrice Ngoma, who at first seemed not to be part of the plans of Simba coach, Fadlu Davids, has emerged as a pearl in the team's midfield.
This Premier League season started with several challenges for the midfielder, but now Ngoma has shown great potential contributing directly to restoring balance in the midfield area. The move has enabled Simba to collect 15 points in the last five league games.
Dongoma, who at first appeared to be on the list of players who were to be left out in the small registration window, has responded to those doubts in action.
In five consecutive Premier League games against Tanzania Prisons, Namungo, Mashujaa, KMC, and Pamba Jiji, Simba have not allowed a single goal when Ngoma was part of the first team.
His presence has restored stability in an area that previously seemed to be in turmoil due to the injuries of Mzamiru Yassin and Yusufu Kagoma as well as the technical challenges of Debora Fernandes and Augustine Okejepha.
Simba started the season fast, but lost balance in the early games, especially in the holding midfield. The lack of prevention in front of the defenders was more evident in the match against Coastal Union which ended in a 2-2 draw with Yanga in which Simba lost 0-1 conceding important goals.
Fadlu in search of a quick solution, decided to give Ngoma more space. The move has shown great success, with Ngoma managing to protect Simba's line of defenders well.
In the 384 minutes he played in five league games, Ngoma has shown a high ability to prevent opponents' attacks.
