The defending champions of the Women's Premier League Simba Queens will miss the services of their goalkeeper Coraline Rufa who will be out of the field for the whole season
The statement released by Simba, has stated that Rufa has undergone knee surgery
Rufa, a Kenyan citizen, suffered knee injuries in the semi-final game to qualify for the African Champions League for women in the CECAFA zone against Kenya Police Bullets held in Ethiopia, August 2024
Simba's doctor, Naima Mohammed has said that the operation will cause the goalkeeper to stay out of the field for eight months before returning to the field where he will miss the entire season of the Tanzania Mainland Women's Premier League which started on October 09
"The surgery went well and our expectation is that after recovery he will be ready to return to the field to continue his duties to serve Simba Queens for another season," said Naima
Last season, Rufa won the award for the best goalkeeper of the Women's Premier League 2023/24
