Simba's new striker, Steven Mukwala has expressed his satisfaction with the pre-season preparations that Simba have had in Egypt
Mukwala has said that the Umsimbazi should expect great things from their team in the coming season
The striker joined Simba, recently from Ghana's Asante Kotoko team and became one of the players who arrived early in the camp in Egypt to prepare for the new competition season
Mukwala has revealed that despite his newness in the team and his unfamiliarity with his teammates, he has enjoyed the way they have received him, which shows that they will do well.
"At the moment I don't want to promise the fans anything because the season hasn't started but let them know that I have their support and realize that good things are coming, my presence and my teammates here is a sign that we have to fight for the team to do better than last season."
Mukwala added that his playing in the squad feels like he is at home because of the good reception he has received from his teammates, leaders and the technical bench in general, so he will fight as much as he can.
"Everything is going well and the leaders have been with us side by side to make sure we give the best to our fans, I believe the next season will be good because the thing that makes me believe is how each of us fights in practice"
Mukwala is a 24-year-old 5.6-foot-tall center forward who was born in Makindye, Uganda in 1999.
The star has landed in Simba while he is most remembered last season when he scored 14 goals with Ghana's Asante Kotoko team behind Berekum Chelsea's leading striker, Stephen Amankonah who scored 16 goals, playing for the team.
He also emerged as the best player in the Ghana League last December with the Asante Kotoko team he joined in August 2022 from Uganda's URA and in the first season he scored 11 goals and five assists.
While at URA, Mukwala played for three seasons starting in 2020 where in the first season of 2019/2020 he emerged as the top scorer of the Premier League in Uganda scoring 13 goals and in the 2020/2021 season, he scored 14 then in 2021/2022 he scored 13 goals again. .
The striker started competitive football in 2017 when he joined Vipers from Masaza FC, then landed at Maroons FC and returned to Vipers and later URA, he has also played for all Ugandan national teams for youth and is now a support for Uganda Cranes
