Despite winning the Women's Premier League (WPL) championship with two matches in hand, Simba Queens coach, Mussa Hassan Mgosi, has said that the title is not enough, as their thirst is to finish the season without losing any game.
Simba won the championship the other day after beating Alliance Girls 3-0 at the CCM Kirumba Stadium, Mwanza, returning the title it lost last season to JKT Queens, while it was the fourth championship as it was also won in 2020, 2021 and 2022.
Mgosi said the issue of the championship has been completed, but the goals have not been achieved as they need to finish the league without losing a game (unbeaten), while he congratulated the players for following the instructions of the technical bench, working on them and fighting for the team as this is the secret of their success this season.< /p>
"Since I have been at Simba, this is a recurring issue, we have been winning the championship with a match in hand. The biggest thing is to congratulate the players for their thirst, following the teachings and achieving what we needed this season," said Mgosi and added;< /p>
"The league is ending but we have the East African tournament, we need to register and reduce the number of people, everyone must play so that what will be done is done realistically, because if someone is given a chance, they fail to show"
The former Simba star, said that the championship is a joy for all Simba players, as they were thirsty to carry it after the men's team took third place in the Premier League.
"It is a consolation for all Simba lovers and we are proud," said Mgosi
Simba Queens is today at Azam Complex to face Fountain Gate Princess in one of the final matches of the season after winning the championship
