Simba Assistant Coach Selemani Matola has said that losing today's game against Yanga has put them in a difficult position in the NBC premier league championship race this season
However, Matola has said that they will continue to fight in the remaining matches to get good results, the calculations will be made at the end of the season
Today Simba have accepted a 2-1 defeat from their hometown team Yanga, a result that makes them remain in third place with 46 points, which is 12 points behind the leaders Yanga who lead the league.
Speaking of the game, Matola has said that in the defensive line and the attacking area it has cost them because in that game they had a chance to do better
Matola said that they started the game without a natural striker, the aim was to use surprise attacks but they had to change their tactics in the second half after being behind by 2-0 goals, a change that added life to the team and got a goal to erase the tears
"We started without a striker, but immediately after conceding two goals, we brought in a striker who has scored a tear-jerking goal"
"The early changes we made also cost us because the player who entered made a mistake, the opponents got the advantage of a penalty due to the mistake he made in the 18," said Matola
Matola has pointed out that Simba was aware of Henock Inonga's injury and they believed he would be able to finish 90 minutes, but things have gone differently, while making it clear that the defender got a new injury
Inonga had to undergo a change in the 12th minute and was replaced by Hussein Kazi, who shortly after entering, caused a penalty which was scored by Stephanie Aziz Ki.
Matola has pointed out that there are still mistakes in the attack area along with the defense where they have allowed goals in every game.
"The problem of attackers and players who are given the chance to play have been failing to use the same space as the defenders, the mistakes have been repeating themselves and we have seen that and we are going to work on it"
