Simba Chief Executive Imani Kajula has asked Simba fans to make sure they show up in large numbers at the Benjamin Mkapa stadium on Friday October 20 for the opening game of the African Football League between Simba and Al Ahly
The first round match will be played at Benjamin Mkapa stadium, at 6 pm and the teams will re-match on October 24 in Egypt
Kajula has said that Simba's mission is to see 60,000 fans come out to fill Benjamin Mkapa stadium in a game that will be witnessed around the world as even FIFA President Giani Infantino will be there
Also, Kajula has thanked the Government for the major improvements to the Mkapa stadium, with Simba contributing part of the cost of those improvements
"We thank the government for the great improvements it has made at the Mkapa Stadium. Simba has also made a contribution to achieve this"
"The President of FIFA will be there, the President of CAF will be there and the presidents of the football associations of other regions, so it involves many government bodies"
"We know there will be various people from the regions and yesterday we had a meeting with Air Tanzania to get a discount on ticket prices for Simba fans from the regions."
"Our goal is to fill the stadium with 60,000 people. We expect tickets to be sold quickly, so when tickets are announced, people should buy quickly because we expect many people to come from outside Dar," he said
