Recently, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) instructed the teams that will play in the Africa Football League championship not to have domestic matches between October 20 and November 08 2023
This is to give the teams a chance to play AFL matches in the competition which is being held for the first time in Africa
League Board Chief Executive Almas Kasongo has said that the league schedule that they are expected to release soon will comply with the CAF order
Simba is one of the eight teams that will participate in the AFL, with the opening match expected to be played on October 20 at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium
The others are Mamelodi Sundowns South Africa), Petro Atletico from Angola, TP Mazembe (DR Congo), Al Ahly (Egypt), Horoya (Guinea), Wydad Casablanca (Morocco) and Esperance from Tunisia.
Also, the teams may get more relief by starting the first round in the African Champions League, which is expected to start in August 2023
