The Confederation of African Football (CAF) today in its Annual General Meeting held in Ivory Coast, announced that the African football league (formerly CAF Super League) will be held from October 20th 2023
The tournament, which will involve eight teams, will be played in a knock-out style where the first game will be played in Tanzanian soil at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium
Simba SC, ranked 7th in Africa, will open the tournament in the first game
The teams that will participate include the four teams that qualified for the semi-finals of the CAF Champions League 2023 Ahly of Egypt, Wydad Casablanca of Morocco, Esperance of Tunisia, and Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa
The others are TP Mazembe of DR Congo, Enyimba of Nigeria, Simba of Tanzania and Petro Atletico of Angola
