Despite of leaving Simba after his contract expired, goalkeeper Beno Kakolanya has said that the injury to striker Moses Phiri contributed significantly to Simba missing the premier league championship last season
Phiri finished last season with 10 goals which he scored in the first round matches before suffering injuries that kept him out for about five months
Kakolanya has said that from his point of view Phiri is the best striker in the Simba team, his injury destabilized the attacking line before the arrival of Jean Baleke
"Phiri is a dangerous striker, when we camped in Egypt, I studied him in training, first of all his quick decisions when you call him to stop him in this way, he has already made decisions to hit the ball in a way that you did not expect, so he should be watched all the time"
"He has a great ability to read the defenders and the goalkeeper, there are times when he may have the ball and you ignore him, but what he will do is still surprising, if the guy wouldn't get hurt, I'm 100 percent sure he would take the goal kick, what he does in training, he brings it into the field, he does more and gives the guarantee of getting goals." said Beno
Phiri is expected to return next season 'fit' after recovering from the injuries
He and Jean Baleke are expected to lead Simba's attack line in various competitions next season
