Mangungu has been elected once again after successfully defeating Adv. Mosses Kaluwa with 1,311 votes against his opponent's 1,045 in the general election held the other day, at the Julius Nyerere International Hall (JNICC), Dar es Salaam.
After the Simba Election Committee, led by its Chairman, Boniface Lihamwike, completed counting the votes cast, they announced the results yesterday morning at 5:00 that Mangungu has defended his position.
The results of the election were announced late due to the counting of votes taking a long time due to the large number of members who showed up, which is 2,363 to vote while valid, 2,356 while seven were invalid.
Speaking after it was announced that he had won the position, Mangungu said that he now wants and encourages all to be one and cooperate in achieving their goals of seeing Simba continue to be a threat inside and outside of Africa.
He said the election process was big and asked members and fans to break up the groups formed during the election campaign and now stand together.
"The process came and every member of Simba has used his democracy to choose who he wants, now we have got a new leadership and we have to break up all our groups, those who were on my side, it is forbidden to bully the losers, because we all have the same goal," said Mangungu.
"I promise to collaborate ideologically with those who contested but didn't win, "
"We leaders who came into power should be together and I will definitely be ready to use ideas from my opponent Kaluwa to ensure Simba moves forward," said Mangungu
