The Director of the Zanzibar Institute of Standards (ZBS) Yusuph Nassor has taken the form to run for the position of Chairman of Simba Sc in the election scheduled for January 29, 2023
The Simba Selection Committee opened the door to take forms on December 5th for candidates interested in competing for various positions including the Chairmanship which is currently under Murtaza Magungu who was elected in the by-election after the former Chairman of the club, Swedy Mkwabi resigned.
Speaking immediately after taking the form, Nassor, who was once the Head of Finance, Administration and Operations of Simba Sc, said he has decided to use his constitutional position to lead the oldest club after seeing that he has every reason to do so.
"I know Simba very well, I have been a member for a long time, I have also worked well until this moment when I decided to take this form, my goals are to guide and take the club further successfully" said Nassor
He said through the various leadership positions he served, he will ensure that he leads the club and gives great success
"We all know that Simba has achieved great success, my goals are to take it further in cooperation with my fellow leaders and that is the main reason why I came forward to take the form to run for the position of chairman"
So far 13 candidates have come forward to take forms to compete for various positions in the general election of the Simba club which will be held on January 29, next year
Contending for the position of Vice Chairman are Geofrey Nyange 'Kaburu', Yusuph Omar Yenga, and Eng. Rashid Khamsini.
Candidates for the position of Board delegation are Iddy Noor Kajuna, Abubakar Zebo, Eng. Rashid Khamsini, Hawa Subira Mwaiifunga, Laurian Mganga, Elisony Edward Mweladzi, Lameck Lawrence and Abdallah Rashid Mgomba
