It was not a good result for Simba yesterday when they lost 1-0 to Azam Fc in the premier league game played at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium
It is the first time Simba's head coach Juma Mgunda has tasted defeat since he was handed the reins of leading Simba as an interim coach
Mgunda has apologized to fans for the defeat taking the blame after his team lost
"All that have happened, I, as a coach, am responsible. We have been punished after making mistakes but we had opportunities to score but we didn't use them"
Mgunda said he believed the game plan used was correct but they missed good result
"Looking at our opponents, we thought it would be good to start with a pure striker Kiyombo (Habibu) and use Moses Phiri as a second striker (number 10). Despite scoring, Phiri can create chances for others to score as well"
Also, Mgunda has talked about the tough schedual facing his squad that might contributed to poor performance of his team
"We have played a difficult match against Yanga on the 23rd, after three days we played against Azam Fc, we will stay another three days, on Sunday we will play again Mtibwa Sugar and after four days we will play again. You will see how much of a challenge the schedule is," said Mgunda
Simba will return to the Benjamin Mkapa stadium on, Sunday, to face Mtibwa Sugar who are second in the league standings
