Former Simba Sc striker, John Makelele 'Zig Zag' who passed away on Saturday at Muhimbili Hospital at the age of 61, will be buried today in Mtakuja village in Moshi in Kilimanjaro.
According to Salome, the deceased's wife, Makelele is survived by five children Happy (42), Esther (38), Jastaz (32), Francis (29) and Elizabeth (22).Makelele, who also played for the national team, was transferred to Muhimbili for treatment last week from Arusha Hospital after his condition changed at his Manyara home, where he was living with his family following his retirement from CRDB bank.
During his lifetime, Makelele will be best remembered by scoring a winning goal in a game against Yanga that that if Simba failed to win, would be relegated
