Despite missing out on the Premier League title this season, Simba players yesterday entered the game against Mbeya City with high morale and emerged with a 3-0 win
Pape Ousmane Sakho scored two goals while Peter Banda scored the third goal
It was the first game for Acting Head Coach Selemani Matola who is determined to win all the remaining games to complete this season
Speaking after the game played at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium, Matola said his youngsters deserved to win as they played well and followed the instructions they gave them at the training ground
"First of all we thank God for this victory and secondly I congratulate the players for their commitment to achieving three important points on the home field. In the first half the opponents were all behind to block when they opened the second and we scored two," said Matola
Simba will descend on the field again on Sunday, facing KMC in a game that will be played at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium
