The Minister of Culture, Arts and Sports, Mohamed Mchengerwa has assured football fans who want to go to South Africa to support Simba in the return leg of the Confederation Cup against Orlando Pirates, they will be safe.
Mchengerwa made the statement today, April 21, 2022 at the National Stadium, Dar es Salaam while speaking to the media.
"Let me just say that the government is closely monitoring the safety of the team and as I speak, I have appointed my assistant Director of Sports, so that he can represent me in overseeing this," explained Minister Mchengerwa
He said Tanzanians and South Africans are long-term friends, so nothing will endanger security
He explained that Simba is going to compete not to participate and want the players to fight to qualify for the next stage.
Simba will face Orlando Pirates on Sunday in Soweto, South Africa, where a draw of any kind, Simba will qualify Simba to the Semi-Finals of the tournament, after the first game emerged with a 1-0 victory at Mkapa Stadium, Dar es Salaam on Sunday
