The Minister of Culture, Arts and Sports, Mohamed Mchengerwa congratulated Simba Sc on their 1-0 victory over Orlando Pirates yesterday at Mkapa Stadium, Dar es Salaam.
The first leg of the QF of the Confederation Cup, means Simba now need a draw or win to to qualify for the semi-finals of the tournament, which will take place on Sunday this week in Soweto, South Africa.
Minister Mchengerwa yesterday was among the thousands of football fans who attended the game of its kind, where Simba's goal was scored in the second half by a penalty kick by Shomari Kapombe.
The morning before the match, Minister Mchengerwa attended a major Quran Africa tournament, held at the same Mkapa Stadium, accompanied by his Deputy Secretary General Said Yakubu.
"Simba has continued to do justice to the home ground, as they have been doing well in many games at home", said Minister Mchengerwa .
He urged Simba to continue to prepare enough, to put themselves in a good position to advance the next round
