As RS Berkane has already arrived in the country, Dar es Salaam Regional Commissioner Amos Makalla has called on football stakeholders from all over the country to turn up at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium on Sunday to celebrate the only remaining Tanzanian representatives in the International competitions, Simba Sc.
Simba Sc who are the defending champions of the Mainland Premier League will host RS Berkane in a Group D match of the Confederations Cup Africa from 04:00 pm.
Makalla said he welcomes Tanzanians and football stakeholders to come and support the only team left in the international tournament regardless of the ideology of their beloved teams.
He said he believes Simba will do well in the game and continue to put themselves in a better position to advance in the tournament organized by the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
"We have had the opportunity for fans to watch the game, regardless of the ideology of our beloved teams, to come out on the field to support Simba because they are the only team on the international sports map here in Tanzania," said Makalla
The leader said he know the match would be competitive but believe Simba will continue to do well on their home ground, so fans should come out in large numbers without forgetting to comply with health authorities' rules regarding protection against Uviko-19.
