The quarterfinals of the Azam Federation Cup (ASFC) are expected to be played between April 13-17 where defending champions Simba are set to play Pamba Fc in a match to be played at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium
While Simba face Pamba Fc, their rivals Yanga will play Geita Gold in another match to be played at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium
If both teams emerge victorious in those quarter-final matches, it means the semi-finals will be between Simba against Yanga and will be played at Sheikh Amri Abeid Stadium in Arusha
Former Simba Chairman Mzee Hassan Dalali said he would like to see the semi-finals bring together the traditional rivals
Two seasons ago, Simba and Yanga met in the semi-final stage, Simba punishing Yanga severely by beating them 4-1
Dalali said Simba has a good record against Yanga in FA Cup matches so he believes if those teams meet in the semi-finals, Simba will win
"I am confident we will get the result in the quarter-final match so that we can advance to the semi-final stage and we pray for our rivals Yanga to get the result against Geita so that we can meet them in the semi-final stage"
"In 2020 we beat them 4-1 in the semi-finals and last season we beat them in the final in Kigoma, so Yanga is the team we have beaten many times in this tournament and we also wish to meet them again," said Dalali.
Simba have won the FA Cup for two consecutive seasons, looking for a third season
